As CFP’s and Fiduciaries, our primary objective is to help you tailor a Real Financial Plan around your unique needs. We are not a “sales” organization and we do not have “products”.

We aim to show you the value of what it would be like to partner with us before you decide to hire us.

That’s why we want to provide a no-cost and no-obligation initial experience, to see if we are a good mutual fit to serve you.

OUR PROCESS

Each year, we take on a set number of new clients. Our goal is to ensure that we can provide Real & Regular Financial Planning in a personal and proactive manner to each client we serve. We don’t want to be the biggest, we want to provide the best solutions and service to our clients

We offer a no-risk, no obligation initial process whereby we deliver to you a one-page financial plan, in plain English, that is actionable. We do this to set expectations and to ensure we are a good fit for you and you are a good fit for us.

Step #1: Introductory Conversation

Let’s get to know one another! We’d like to hear about your personal and financial life – your goals, needs, and curiosities, as well as your current investments and budget habits. This allows us to determine if our expertise might be a fit for you. If we feel there is a mutual fit, and you agree, we will send a list of initial information for you to gather. At that time, we would also schedule our first official meeting.

Step #2: Strategy Session

Let’s dig deeper into your financial circumstances, financial planning goals, and questions. We want to align the information you have provided (“the what”) with what’s important to you (“the why”). This helps us bring into focus a true picture and timeline that will inform our recommendations and advice to you.

Step #3: Analysis and Follow Up

It is important that we demonstrate clear and tangible value up front, so that you can determine if we are a fit for you in the long term. As a courtesy, we will provide you with an initial one-page financial plan and helpful recommendations.

The one-page initial financial plan is meant as a summary of our high-level recommendations and an insight into how we would steward your finances in the future.

Please note, while clients appreciate the ease and clarity of a one-page plan, we want to learn how you best receive communication and information. If you officially engage us as your CFP, and you are more detail-oriented by nature, we’re happy to provide granular level data, charts, graphs and details that underpin your Real Financial Plan. At this step, you are now empowered to reflect on the discussions we’ve had, to contemplate the initial recommendations we’ve put forth and to decide whether you wish to formally engage Real & Regular Financial Planning as your CFP.

Step #4: Your Decision and Implementation

This process moves at your pace and direction. We believe we have mastered the art of polite follow-up, keeping things top-of-mind but not bothering or rushing potential clients. If you decide that Real & Regular Financial Planning is a good fit for you, we’ll be excited to serve you!

Upon your commitment, we will clearly outline the steps required to formalize our relationship and begin the implementation of your Real Financial Plan and our management of your investments.

NOTE: We think it’s important to align our practice with the Practice Standards from the CFP Board1. You will find that our unique process follows this framework for serving clients.
